I will assist the media specialist in the end of the year inventory.(FEAP 8, 12)
Inventory
Inventory was completed using Destiny and a mobile station used to scan items.All items in the media center has to be scanned, including books, equipment, videos, DVD’s, prints, music, maps, globes, atlases, etc.All student library books were due the week before so they could be shelved and inventory could be completed accurately.The shelves were straightened and cleaned during the inventory process.

Lori really got her feet wet and learned a lot about the collection through the inventory process. She learned to scan the materials, check for the correct title, barcode and call number of each item. While scanning, she also learned to look for books that needed to be weeded or replaced. When the process was completed, Lori was able to view the age of collection and other important statistics of the collection that keeps the Media Center up to date and functioning properly.
